Research in Pakistan

Academic research is a vital component of the overall political, economic and social ecosystem of any country as it seeks to analyze and answer questions of national importance and assist the policy makers in making right decisions in light of changing local and global dynamics. HSF strives to add value to an already vibrant and innovative research culture in Pakistan by supporting the young and forthcoming researchers and exposing them to the international academic practices.

International conferences

HSF regularly conducts international conferences and seminars on topics ranging from political and constitutional issues to regional connectivity to environmental sustainability in collaboration with partner organizations. These conferences feature esteemed speakers and presenters from their respective fields and allow the students and researchers to interact and network with each other and participate in discussions on matters of national, regional and global significance.

Capacity building workshops

HSF routinely arranges research methodology training workshops in public universities all over Pakistan through its local partners for early career researchers to equip them with the tools and techniques required for effective academic research in their respective universities.

Guest lectures

HSF engages its international network of political and academic partners to arrange guest lectures at Pakistani universities. Eminent scholars are invited to deliver lectures and hold interactive sessions at universities providing their students with the opportunity to get international exposure and learn the best practices in the field.

Research grants and fellowships

Research is a resource-consuming process and HSF aims to support Pakistani and Afghan researchers by providing them with much-needed financial support through its distinguished fellowships and grants program. Aside from financial support, these young scholars are also supported and mentored through HSF’s widespread academic network to produce high quality publishable papers.

Institutional and technical support

HSF provides Institutional and technical support to Pakistani universities by funding the acquisition of books and subscription for journals for their libraries. HSF also supports the editing and publication of their research papers in order to boost their visibility and impact.
