Description

The increasing aspirations of the economic giant, China, are likely to have lasting impact on the regional security and economic development of the South Asian states. The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is one of the flagship projects of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), under which China is making large investments in Pakistan. China and Pakistan have often reiterated that CPEC is an economic corridor, and a major stabilising factor in the volatile and uncertain regional security paradigm of South Asia.
