Bilateral Dialogue on Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN: The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) in collaboration with the Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East & Africa (CAMEA), Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) organized a closed-door round table on “Bilateral Dialogue on Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations” on the premises of ISSI on 24th and 25th of November, 2022.

The objective of the event was to gather a diverse group of socio-political multipliers from both Pakistan and Afghanistan to constructively discuss Pakistan-Afghan relations, namely political aspects and prospects for more regional and economic connectivity. The event aimed to stabilize the already existing bilateral dialogue efforts and it also focused on the on-going situation in Afghanistan.

The first session of the bilateral dialogue analyzed the current “Pak-Afghan Political Ties: Exploring Avenues for Cooperation” and was moderated by Amina Khan, Director CAMEA. The second session discussed “Pak-Afghan Economic Ties: Exploring Opportunities” and was moderated by former Afghan Ambassador Janan Mosazai, Vice President, Heart of Asia Society.

The bilateral dialogue event was attended by both Afghan and Pakistani delegates, representing relevant stakeholders from both countries. The event followed the Chatham House Rule.
